A multidrug-resistant strain of malaria is spreading in Southeast Asia two new studies have found.
The study is published in the Lancet with warning that multidrug resistant strain of malaria was spreading across thailand, Vietnam and Laos.
Findings come as that health experts struggle to fight the parasite disease. There are some places which were declared malaria-free in May such as Argentina and Algeria but in other places condition worsen over time.
Drug resistant strain can have terrible consequences. Researchers have found that widely used drugs are ineffective to treat malaria and this is increasing very fast rate.
Malaria, which is transmitted through female Anopheles mosquitoes is treatable and preventable despite 435,000 people die cause of it each year.
Between 2000 and 2015 malaria death decrease decreases significantly almost 62% and malaria cases decrease by 41%. But recent studies data suggest that malaria has risen significantly in 13 countries.
